Log cabins are a very simple log house, traditionally referred to a smaller, more rustic log house such as a hunting cabin in the woods or a summer cottage. Historically most log cabins were a simple 1 half storey structures. Usually constructed with round or hewn logs. Log cabins construction has its roots in Scandinavia & Eastern Europe. By the time Europeans settled in North America, it became traditional of using logs for houses, barns & other outbuildings. This then became a very popular form of construction in America for pioneers settling in, especially in the colder areas of America where winter conditions were often very extreme. Camelot Log Cabin from Shire is a very impressive, versatile & traditional style log cabin with apex roof & features a 7ft x 7ft footprint. Perfect for those with a smaller garden. Provides plenty of headroom inside & will give a feeling of spaciousness. Can be used as an alternative to a traditional garden shed, providing a safe structure where you can store all your garden tools etc. Log Cabins also provide a great deal of strength because of the 4 way interlocking joints. Can be used as an office, play area, place to eat your meals, there are many possibilities. Walls are constructed from sustainable, interlocking timber 19mm thick, offering the highest quality timber. Sustainable sourced timber is used throughout this log cabin. Log cabins are much thicker than most garden sheds which are generally 12mm thick. Because of the quality of this product this log cabin will last you a lifetime, so if you ever decide to move house simply dismantle & rebuild at new house. This is a superb quality product offering pressure treated floor. Roof & floor is made from 12mm tongue & groove, which is a smooth planed interlocking board, provides greater structural strength, enhanced weather protection, better security & increased insulation. Includes:: mineral roofing felt to protect roof from damaging effects of the weather. Windows & doors are all handcrafted joinery with 19mm thick timber, same as the walls. Fully boarded single door with pad bolt (padlock not included). Single door joinery is 34mm x 58mm. Door opening size is 68cm wide by 163cm high. The glazed, joinery opening window with wooden shutter is made from 3mm Horticultural glass & will offer plenty of natural light inside. Window opening is 63cm x 85cm.
