The Airflo Ridge Clear range is just that, a range of clear fly lines with nothing added & nothing taken away. The pure nature of the coating & clear core optimises the clarity for ultimate stealth. Each fly line has a low optical density to enable it to disappear in water. Why the Airflo Ridge Clear Series? From experience with existing Floating ridge fly lines, Airflo just knew how much better the lines shot through the guides & wanted to offer the advantage in there new CLEAR line range. When the Ridges fill with water the clarity is incredible & this also helps effectively lubricate the fly line on each & every cast. Unlike some coating techniques, the ridges run along the lines full length & flow well through the rod guides with a minimum of noise, this indicates how little friction is being produced. The lines come in a Floating, Slow Inter with a sink rate of 0.5” & a Fast inter with a sink rate of 1.5”. AIRFLO Ridge Supple Impact Mini Tip range After the incredible success & subsequent time spent fishing our original 3’ Mini Tip lines, Airflo realised that there was room for development & this product could be enhanced. New for 2012, Airflo have released a range of Slow & Fast Intermediate tip lines in the Ridge Supple Impact taper. Designed specifically for the Stillwater angler, these lines will also be extremely useful for streamer fishing in both coastal & running waters. The Impact taper design with its relatively short front taper & long rear taper loads easily & work well in a wide range of applications. 6’ Slow Tip The first line we produced was the 6’ Slow Intermediate tip, this line has a Pale Fluo Yellow main line & a trans Olive 6’ tip section. Developed with the ‘washing line’ technique in mind, this line keeps you in direct contact even with the slowest of retrieves, without sinking the flies too deep & eliminates the hinge you experience on the 3’ fast intermediate tip (this hinge is great for deep nymphing, but not perfect for surface fishing).
