Follow the golden rule of Catchphrase and just €œsay what you see Based on the famous ITV game show, Catchphrase, this family board game is fun and simple to follow. All you have to do is guess the hidden catchphrase from the colourful mixture of clues. €œIt s good, but it s not right. Consists of four sets of cards and a timer - the packs are made up of groups of six double-sided cards. The face sides are numbered 1 60 and are complete catchphrase images. The reverse sides are part of a bigger image made up of the six cards. The reverse of the card is revealed on the playing board when a person or team guess the face catchphrase correctly. €œKeep pressing and guessing. The aim of the game is to guess the most catchphrases. Each time the reverse of a card is revealed, the players have to guess the catchphrase of the larger image within the allotted time (timer included).Makes a brilliant alternative to the traditional charades at Christmas family gatherings! €œRiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!
The Countdown game show has become somewhat of a British institution, with over 5, 000 episodes behind it, since the show launched in 1982.The Countdown board game by Britannia Games brings the infamous game show to the comfort of your home. Always fancied yourself a strong Countdown contestant? The board game grants the opportunity to beat the (replica) countdown clock, knock out fellow €œcontestants and impress family and loved ones with your lexical dexterity and numerical agility. The game, for 2-6 players, is an ideal gift idea for €œbrainiacs and fans of the show. The show format, which this board game imitates, involves word and number puzzles. Contestants choose their own cards: €œA vowel please, a consonant, another consonant €¦ and the replica countdown clock is turned on, after which the contestant has just 30 seconds to create the longest possible word from the cards. Feel the tension building as the replica clock (featuring the treasured 30-second Countdown sound effect) ticks away. In round 2, contestants must use arithmetic to reach a target pre-determined number in 30 seconds. Finally, in round 3 they have 30 seconds more to solve the infamous €œConundrum anagram. The game consists of a board, special writing pads (with a set of pencils), a special die and four decks of cards (with word games, number games and Conundrums). The game even includes a replica countdown clock with the classic (and treasured) 30-second sound effect.
Here's a party game the whole family can play. Pointless is based on the BBC TV quiz show hosted by Alexander Armstrong. Great way to get the old grey matter working quickly after that long Sunday lunch. Makes a brilliant alternative to the traditional charades at Christmas family gatherings too.
Pointless is a game where you have to guess the most obscure answer to a general knowledge question. A bit like Family Fortunes but you need to guess the least number of popular answers as surveyed by 100 people. You'll be fighting your natural instincts as you try to score the least number of points by guessing the least popular answers to general knowledge questions.
For instance, if the question is "name a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio"; Titanic is not a good answer as 88 people in the survey gave this. However give The Man in the Iron Mask as an answer and you score 6 points. Any correct answers the survey didn't think of are Pointless answers and therefore awarded a most desirable zero points. So who in your family will carry off the Pointless trophy? Suitable for 2 to 4 players or teams. For ages 10 and up.
To play the Tension board game, you simply take it in turns to pick a card. Then frantically call out as many examples as you can on the given general knowledge topics before your time is up! With over 200 different topics, this naming game will have dinner party guests, family and friends wildly shouting out answers as they try to beat the clock.Tension is fast and furious fun for all the family. Play Your Cards Right, by Britannia Games, is the board game version of the popular ITV game show that gained somewhat of a cult following, hosted by Bruce Forsyth and broadcast between 1980 and 1987. The show concept was based on American game show, €œCard Sharks and became known in Britain for its humorous questions, surprising answers and the tension-building climax, as everything rests on the turn of a card.In the first round of the game, teams guess "higher" or "lower" as the card turns, trying to earn a stake with which to play the next round. Teams then gamble away their money as they try to guess the outcome at the turn of a card in the second round. Easy to learn, Play Your Cards right is a great family game. Suitable for two players or teams, aged 8+. A retro gem that will make a fun addition to a Games Night.
