Hydrangea Aspera ' Goldrush' 3L Pot Make a statement in your garden this year with this eye-catching & rarely available, new variety of hydrangea. Resplendent in spring with rich, velvety, golden foliage that is edged in orange, ' Goldrush' is truly a sight not to be missed, & breath-taking when it has darker foliage as a backdrop, really lighting up the spring garden. An award-winning hydrangea, ' Goldrush' was shortlisted in the 2018 RHS Plant of the year competition & was also given a Bronze Medal at Holland's Plantarium 2018 awards so its officially recognised as something really special! As the season progresses, the leaves of this lovely hydrangea steadily tone down so that by the time the large lace cap blooms emerge, the leaves are green. The flowers themselves are a subtle, pastel blue-violet & surrounded by a ring of large white bracts which contrast spectacularly with the foliage. But the show doesnt end there
- the leaves turn fiery orange again in the autumn before falling to reveal its attractive peeling bark. This really is a plant with year-round interest, which can be grown in the garden border as well as in pots & containers where it brings its vibrancy to decks, patios & balconies. Being a hydrangea, its simple to grow, needing no complicated maintenance. If you are looking to add a bit of low maintenance drama to your garden, then this collection of Hydrangea ' Cherry Explosion' is for you!A compact variety of Hydrangea macrophylla with huge flower power, literally an explosion of cherry red blooms! These big & beautiful red petals surround clusters of pastel pink, smaller, star-shaped flowers, creating a simply stunning contrast. Simply fabulous when in full flower & will stand out in your garden incredibly well. It's also perfectly suited to growing in a large pot as an eye-catching feature on a terrace or balcony. The foliage is lush & green with serrated leaves in spring & summer, & in autumn the gorgeous lace cap flowerheads turn from cherry red to burgundy & finish the season in a perfect violet tone. As with all hydrangeas, the faded flowers look spectacular if left on the plant over winter. Contents: Supplied as 3 x established plants in 9cm pots, ready for planting, growing to a height of 1.2m (4ft).  Care Just plant in position, water well, & add some fertiliser
- they’ll burst into growth & flower profusely all summer. This plant is at its best in a most soil as long as it is well drained, in sun or partial shade. The more sun the plant gets, the better the flower colour. A moisture-loving plant, remember to water regularly & deeply. Hardy in the UK, frost can cause a lot of damage to young buds, reducing the number of flowers, so it’s advisable to protect your plant with fleece if freezing weather is likely. Pruning is generally best carried out early spring. A general tidy up is usually all that is needed & consists of removing the dead bloom from each stem, cutting back to the first strong, healthy pair of buds down from the faded flower. As Hydrangeas flower on the previous year's growth, cut out 1 or 2 of the oldest stems, in spring, at the base to encourage the production of new, replacement growth that will carry more flowers.

Blooming for up to 6 months of the year, Hydrangea paniculata ' Polestar' (R) (syn Ophelia)is a delightful hydrangea that will change colour through the year. Unique in that it will grow to just 50cm tall, ' Polestar' is perfect for container growing so you don't even need a garden to appreciate its beautiful, colour-changing blooms. The delicate blooms emerge green-white & take on a pink hue as they age, becoming pinker as the seasons progress. Coming into flower from late May & lasting well into October the faded flowers can remain on the plant right through the winter bringing extended interest across the seasons. Easy to grow & hardy right down to -25°C, this is a hydrangea suitable for anyone to grow & it will even double as a houseplant for the spring
- just remember that ultimately it prefers to be outside. Supplied as an established plant in a 12cm pot, ready to plant out, growing to a height & spread of 50cm (20in). Care Planting advice for Hydrangea ' Polestar': Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting & mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole & use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place. Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly & allow to drain. Remove the plant from its pot & tease out a few of the roots. Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker. Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot & refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling). Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball & water well. Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc. If you're planting into pots, use the best compost you can buy & add some sand or grit for drainage & to weigh the pot down. Aftercare advice for your Hydrangea: Water regularly & apply a general-purpose feed every two weeks during the growing period. Pruning Advice for Hydrangea Paniculata: Prune hard in early spring to encourage flowering. Cut back the previous season's shoots to within a few buds of the permanent, woody framework of the plant.
