During their university holidays in the late 1880s, S.K. Baker & three of his University College friends clad in stripy blazers & boaters spent time sailing & camping on the River Wye. Baker, a keen artist & diarist, recorded their travels in watercolour in two small leather bound books. The 2018 ACSI Camping Card is an off-season discount camping scheme which runs from 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018, usually excluding the last 2 weeks of July & all of August. It is a set of two books: Part 1 & Part 2, which cover 21 countries across Europe. The discount card comes inside the front cover of Part 2. On presentation of the ACSI discount Camping Card to the campsite reception the price charged per night is either €11, €13, €15, €17 or €19. This covers 2 people, a car, a caravan/motorhome/tent, 6amp hook-up, VAT, a pet & use of showers. Small charges can be made by the campsite to cover tourist or environment taxes & waste disposal. This is a different scheme from Camping Cheques. Topographic coverage of mainland Spain at 1:50, 000 in the MTN50 (Mapa Topográfico Nacional) series from the Centro Nacional de Información Geografica, the country’s civilian survey organization. The maps have contours at 20m intervals, enhanced by relief shading, plus colouring and/or graphics to show different types of terrain, vegetation or land use. Boundaries of national parks & other protected areas are marked. In addition to all the usual information featured on topographic mapping at this scale, detailed presentation of the road & rail networks, rural tracks & paths, etc, the maps also show campsites & mountain refuges. On more recent editions some GRs, the official long-distance hiking routes, are also marked (although not as clearly as on hiking maps from other publishers). Each map covers 29.5x 18.5 km (with adjustments in the border or coastal areas). The maps have a 1-km UTM grid, plus margin ticks for latitude & longitude at 1` intervals.
