Barbara Cassani set up the no-frills airline GO for British Airways. She was a rare breed. A female airline chief executive who believed in doing things differently. Her European low-cost operation was launched in May 1998 with GBP25 million backing & within three years she took it into profit. Riding high, she led a management buy-out from BA, supported by the venture capitalist outfit 3i. They paid GBP110 million for the airline. Yet, less than a year later the venture capital group
- battered by a falling stock market
- had a chance to cash in their chips. GO was sold to arch-rival easy Jet for an astonishing GBP374 million. At at time when the airline industry is of great interest to the public as well as being in flux, this fast-paced read gives a fascinating insight into how to create a successful company with limited resources in such a short space of time. Go Hard Or Go Home: The Little Book Of Overlanding

The must-have guide for surviving your overland tour - Travelling from London to Cape Town by road is as challenging as doing it from London to Sydney. Overlanding on a converted truck or bus with two dozen other adventurous, like-minded people requires a special type of person. Forget backpackers on their night buses; forget the `flashpackers` and the `glampers`. Overland travel is the way to go. It is all about the nitty gritty, camping under the stars, shopping in local markets, cooking over a fire and getting off the beaten track. A `Code of Conduct` amongst the overlanding community has evolved over the generations, from the first Hippie Trail overlanders in the Sixties to present day overlanders. Irrespective of the continent you are overlanding through, the Code remains the
same; it is universal. Now, for the first time the rules of the road have been brought together in one small book in order to help prospective overlanders survive their arduous trip. Andy N Robinson and Kirsty McGregor have spent almost 20 years between them overlanding on six continents for many of the big names in the adventure travel industry.Through their experience with groups, they know the importance of educating new overlanders so they get the most out of their `trip of a lifetime`. Go Hard or Go Home really is the Little Book of Overlanding. Written as a humorous yet factual guide, it covers 160 no-nonsense tips that people need to be aware of while on their overland journey. Its short, punchy style covers camping, cooking, group dynamics, when things go wrong, how to
behave, how to blend in and countless other topics that will help people survive life on the road. This mini guide book should be on every overlander`s pre-trip checklist. It is also ideal for those who have previously overlanded, serving as a trip down memory lane.
