Product Description

Insight Atlases specialise in combining physical relief cartography with tourist information, using an expressly developed pictorial legend system which is translated onto the maps & illustrates 120 different place characteristics (i.e. whether the place is a city, a river, a mountain or a leisure related site). Inclusion of tourist site information & infrastructures is prominent, with larger atlases having separately tailored legends for each double page spread to indicate visitor sites of natural, historical or cultural importance. Atlas index references are also accompanied by pictorial legend symbols to doubly assist orientation. Insight atlases frequently come with reference sections on Nations of the World, providing facts & statistics as well as descriptive information. Political overview maps & additional maps on current topical geographical subjects, such as climate & population density, are also generally included. A number of the atlases feature a large range of colour photographs. Main auto, rail & shipping routes are shown, as are airports, key physical features & boundaries.
