The coast of Washington State & Oregon at 1:833, 000 on a double-sided, indexed road map from GM Johnson & Associates highlighting various places of interest & providing street plans of coastal towns & resorts. Place names on the road map are in larger print than found on most other similar maps. The map is double-sided, with each state shown separately on one side. Coverage of Washington State extends northwards beyond Canadian border to include Vancouver & the south-eastern part of Vancouver Island with Nanaimo, plus eastward to show the Mount Rainier National Park. In Oregon, the map extends eastwards beyond the state highway No. 5 &
Includes:: Carter Lake National Park. Plain base with just colouring for different types of protected areas shows gravel roads & tracks, with driving distance on most local roads. Railway lines are included. Topography of the area is indicated by names/heights of peaks. National parks & other protected areas are prominently coloured according to their official status. Symbols indicate various places of interest including smaller parks & waysides, campgrounds, marine parks, etc. The map has no geographical coordinates. Each side has a separate index which also lists points of interest, a table showing what facilities can be found at state parks, etc, plus brief descriptions of places of interest. The main feature of the map, as stressed on its cover, is the large print for all the names shown on it. This is somewhat contradicted by the presentation of the numerous street plans. Although very clear, highlighting main traffic arteries & on longer street showing selected house numbers, these street plans are printed with names in normal font size used in such mapping. The plans show Anacortes, Port Angles, Port Townsend, Aberdeen, Victoria, Seaside, Astoria, Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, Newport, Brookings & Coos Bay – North Bend.
