Extracted by distillation from the wood of this evergreen tree there are then three extractions made from Camphor – only White Camphor is safe for aromatherapy use as it contains no Safrol (unlike Yellow & Brown Camphor). White Camphor should still however be treated with caution & used in moderation. Camphor is a traditional ingredient of mothballs & these can be made at home by adding 10 drops of White Camphor to a cotton wool ball & placing these in cupboards drawers etc. (They should be kept well out of the reach of children & pets.) To keep other airborne pests at bay try adding 5 drops of Camphor to a burner or diffuser.
