The Thorium is best described as a general multi-purpose down jacket that can be used as a winter mid layer or just as a super warm & cosy everyday jacket. The boffins at Arcteryx have cleverly combined natural down with strategically placed synthetic insulation to reduce weight, reduce compression & improve performance. The Thorium is beautifully made, as you would expect from Arcteryx, but the really clever thing is the way that they have made the jacket so light.
