I’ve used loads of different hydration reservoirs over the years & find the Osprey system to be one of the best.  This bite valve just works superbly, always providing a high flow rate to slake your thirst.  The whole valve rotates to securely shut off the flow completely.  The valve body has a magnetic base & is supplied with a sternum strap magnet so you can easily locate your bite valve for instant hydration; it also stops the valve flapping about during activity. You might think it’s difficult to get excited about a bladder. But believe me, after years of using just about every other bladder available this one is THE BEST. A rigid panel on the back keeps the bladder secure inside your pack, no sloshing around or slumping to the bottom of the sleeve. The panel also helps to keep the liquid under pressure to ensure an even flow to the bite valve. You don’t need to be super strong to undo the filler cap & it’s a piece of cake to fill, clean & dry. We recommend using just water in your reservoir & after any activity drain the reservoir completely & bung it in the freezer. This keeps it fresh as a daisy. The bite valve delivers a free flowing stream of water; but best of all is the magnetic sternum strap clip which stops the valve flapping around during activity.

This Osprey Hydraulics Reservoir cleaning kit contains a long handled cleaning brush to get into all the nooks & crannies of your reservoir, a bendy, flexible brush for scrubbing out the hose & a drying rack to make sure it…dries!  You also get two cleaning tablets that completely refresh the whole system.
