Powertraveller Powermonkey Extreme Yellow
The Powermonkey Extreme is all the charger youll ever need for all your portable tech, including more power hungry 12V items such as DVD players and re-chargeable camera batteries. The Extreme is built to survive the truly wild and remote places on earth and and is shockproof and rated to IP67 which means that it is protected against dust ingress and immersion in water up to one metre. The heart of this kit is the mighty 9000mAh battery that can be re-charged from the mains, from the solar panel or from a standard USB socket. Power is delivered from the battery via a 5V USB port or the 12V DC so that the Powermonkey Extreme can charge iPads and tablets. The iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad mini can be plugged directly into the USB socket using your Apple white sync / charge cable and
will recharge up to 2 times depending on the model. The iPad 4 has slightly different charging requirements and requires you to use the gorilla-pad adaptor for this model. The gorilla-pad plugs into the 12V DC socket and is used with your Apple sync / charge cable to charge iPad 4. You can also use the gorilla-pad for the other iPads/tablets or to give yourself another 5V USB socket. An integral LCD screen displays battery level and status via a clear and unambiguous digital read out numbered from 01 (requires charging) to 99 (fully charged). When the battery requires charging, the icon in the bottom corner will flash. When the battery is charging the LCD screen will turn red and when charging is complete it will go green. During normal operation the LCD screen will be blue. The unique
one touch friction swipe ON/OFF control is designed so you can only turn it on with a swipe from left to right, which helps to reduce the risk of it being accidently turning on when not in use. To turn the Powermonkey Extreme on, swipe the panel from left to right with your thumb, to turn it off swipe with your thumb from right to left. When your 5V device is fully charged the auto shut-off function turns off the Powermonkey after 2 minutes, so you dont have to constantly check the status. This battery has very low static wastage which means that after one year it will still retain 75% of its charge, it also incorporates many safety features to protect your precious gadgets. The tough armoured clam-shell Polysilicon solar panel has a 3 Watt max output and can completely re-charge
the Extreme battery in 18 - 22 hours. It can even work in low light conditions thanks to MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) technology. You can also simultaneously charge the battery whilst it is charging your device. A velcro strap is included so that the solar panel can be hung from a pack or tent. You can use the panel to charge your devices directly as it has a USB output and fully supports iPhone and iPod, mobile phones and other 5V gadgets.
