The high performance of this brilliant stove system is achieved by the incredible Reactor Burner unit. The Reactor Burner uses radiant heat from a proprietary metal alloy mesh, a bit like a metal sponge, that sits very close to the pot surface. Traditionally burners need to have an air gap to allow combustion, but the Reactor draws all the air it needs from the sides of the burner unit dramatically reducing the gap between heat source & cookware. This means that in windy conditions heat is not drawn away from the system & boil times are significantly reduced. The Reactor Burner also features a built in regulator that keeps the gas pressure constant throughout the life of the canister which means that even partially full gas canisters perform as well as brand new ones. The cookware has a highly efficient built in heat exchanger that increases the contact surface area & directs heat through chambers in the double wall construction around the base & sides of the pot. Combine this with the close proximity of the pot to the burner unit & you get an amazingly effective & fuel efficient system that is virtually unaffected by windy conditions. This one litre capacity system is the ultimate solo cookset with all components packing neatly away for easy transportation & storage. Upgrade your Reactor System with larger pots, a hanging kit for exposed situations or add a coffee press for the ultimate morning brew. We admit that the video we chose is perhaps not the most fact-packed technical edition...but we still like it.
