The Rab Strata Hoodie is the result of Rab’s collaborative work with fabric & insulation suppliers. Insulated with the amazingly breathable & warm Polartec Alpha, combined with a 20 denier Pertex Microlight, the Strata allows some airflow to maximise breathability & comfort. The Strata is primarily designed for active use in cold conditions, when you are moving quickly & maximum breathability is your main priority. Polartec Alpha is a woven insulation fabric; think of it like a fluffy string vest, & is much more stable & durable than other synthetic insulation. The body of the Vidda is made from mid-weight Event & the shoulders & arms feature a heavier fabric to combat abrasion & provide durability. Event is a totally waterproof & highly breathable membrane fabric offering high performance & reliable quality. Our experience shows that it is just as waterproof as Gore Tex & is significantly more breathable than Gore-Tex Performance Shell.  Rab are the masters of hood design, they are not so big that your head just wallows around in it, they cinch down without obscuring your vision & they have a wired peak so it doesnt flop down over your eyes.  Youd be amazed how many technical jackets are let down by poor hood design, but not with the Rab Vidda, in my humble opinion it has the best hood design of any jacket currently available.  All external zips are the high quality YKK Aquaguard zips which are designed to be highly water resistant, but not completely waterproof. The Rab Alliance glove is a tough durable & very versatile modular glove system. It features a Primaloft insulated and e VENT waterproofed, very tough outer glove & a Primaloft insulated inner glove that can be used independently or together depending on the conditions.
