M.E.’s Arclight Jacket is their most breathable, fully weatherproof jacket out there. Made from super breathable Polartec Noe Shell fabric, this jacket is ideal for the fast moving, highly active mountain goer. Polartec Neo Shell has a hydrostatic head of 10, 000mm so it does a great job at keeping water at bay; this fabric comes into its own in the cold & rapidly changing conditions that you find on long, multi-day ski tours. The Mountain Hood is fully adjustable with a smaller cranium volume than the Mountain HC Hood. Unfortunately this mean that you can’t fit a helmet underneath, however this hood provides a more secure & precise fit, which is what this jacket is all about. Sticking with the secure & precise fit theme, Mountain Equipment has constructed this jacket around their Alpine Fit Block. This is a close fitting cut yet it still allows room for low volume layers & has been built with manoeuvrability in mind. M.E. have used a new shoulder construction & new seam placements to reduce tightness & “bagging” in one foul swoop. The guys at M.E. have used all of their Storm Construction techniques during the design & build of the jacket. The Bastion Jacket from M.E. is a lightweight hooded jacket that can be thrown on to provide you with warmth & a 100% windproof barrier. This is thanks to the Gore-  Windstopper shell fabric that stops the wind from pushing out warm air trapped within the  Polarloft  Duo insulation. This brilliant jacket is probably one of the best lightweight insulated jackets around today; its warm, extremely breathable & very very weather resistant. Chuck the Bastion on over a good base layer & its pretty much all youll need for winter mountain activities & thanks to the highly breathable face fabric & insulation the Bastion works extremely well as a mid layer for extreme conditions. The  Windstopper shell fabric, apart from being rather obviously windproof, is highly water resistant, so youll only need a waterproof shell when the weather gets extremely nasty. Stretch  Windstopper panels under the arms & down the sides provide superb freedom of movement & ensure an efficient fit to maximise the insulation. The bastion is filled with a synthetic insulation called  Polarloft  Duo which is made up from a mix of hollow core & multi-channel fibre. These fibres work together regulating temperature as you move. It provides impressive moisture management which aids the removal of excess heat & moisture when you are active yet it does an amazing job of keeping you warm during rest periods. Unlike Down,   Polarloft  Duo will retain a high percentage of its warmth even when wet, & will dry out exceptionally quickly, making the Bastion Jacket absolutely perfect for UK winter conditions. The Bastion Jacket has a Mountain style Helmet Compatible (HC) Hood & has been cut to M.E. Alpine Fit block. This means the jacket has a closer fit than normal creating less dead space making it more thermally efficient, but don’t worry, you won’t feel restricted as it is fitted with a new shoulder block that allows for full range of movement relieving unwanted tension in the chest, shoulders & bicep areas. 2014 autumn/winter updates New 70g WINDSTOPPER shell fabric WINDSTOPPER 290 Soft Shell thermal inserts stretch panels aid fit during dynamic activity 80g POLARLOFT Duo insulation Mountain HC Hood is fully adjustable Alpine fit with pre-shaped & articulated sleeves Shoulder Shield construction Carry over features 2-way YKK moulded centre front zip with insulated rear baffle 2 zipped micro fleece lined hand warmer pockets Inner zipped security pocket Stretch cuffs & dual tether hem drawcords For all you kit geeks out there, the links below will take you to Mountain Equipments Information pages where they will explain this jackets different fabrics, fills & constructions techniques in greater detail. Mountain Equipment Mens Assault Glove Black Tan

The mens Assault Glove from Mountain Equipment. Gore-Tex lined so they are fully waterproof, windproof yet breathable. The palms, fingers, thumbs and outer wrists are constructed out of cowhide for grip and durability whilst climbing and mountaineering. The fingers are pre-curved and the thumb is made from a 3-part build method to aid dexterity, while the knuckles and fore-fingers have been been fitted with a stretch panel to help lessen the restriction of movement, that you might get with other gloves. The Majority of the cuff and thumb have a durable Nylon outer, again to keep in line with the over all rugged use that this glove was intended for. If youre thinking, Yeah, all this is great, but how warm are they? Baring in mind I have already said they are Gore-Tex lined making
them waterproof and windproof, they also fleece lined for warmth without all the bulk, and like any descent mountaineering glove they have a one-handed drawcord closure so there is less faff. GORE-TEX lining is waterproof, windproof and highly breathable Cowhide leather palm and fingers for grip and durability Rugged Nylon outer Stretch panel over back of hand for improved dexterity Pre-curved fingers and 3-part thumb for dexterity Roll-tip fingers for added durability Fleece lined for warmth without bulk Single-handed drawcord closure
