Rab have used the new event DVstorm 3 layer fabric for the new Muztag Jacket. DVstorm is a much lighter (20% lighter) & more breathable (15% more breathable) version of the original event fabric with a 10, 000mm hydrostatic head, 31, 000g/m² breathability & a lightweight 30 denier nylon face fabric. Whilst the Muztag may not be up to full on mountaineering with a heavy pack it is perfectly suitable for mountain walking, running, mountain biking & any other minimalist fast paced activity. This superb lightweight jacket features Rabs superb hood design that is fully adjustable, helmet compatible & has a wired peak. Rab hoods have got to be the best on the market, they have the brilliant ability to fit your head without being too baggy, yet are roomy enough for a climbing helmet. The rest of the Muztag is pretty minimal, to keep the weight down, with 2 A line hand pockets, a full length YKK Aquaguard zip, Velcro cuffs & the usual drawcord adjusters at the hem. The Neutrino Endurance has become a modern classic & a benchmark for lightweight performance amongst down mountaineering jackets.  Fully featured & very warm with durable protection against the elements & minimal weight & pack size; the Neutrino is one of those jackets that is capable of anything from UK winter walking & mountaineering to winter Alpine ascents. Stuffed with 225g of superior European Hydrophobic Goose Down with a very impressive 800 fill power, & protected by lightweight but tough ripstop 30D Pertex Endurance which offers protection from windblown snow & light rain without adding bulk.   Despite the high water resistance of the face fabric the Neutrino Endurance is not totally waterproof, so always pack a shell if, & when, the weather turns really nasty. Rab is now using Hydrophobic down in all their down jackets, basically each & every cluster of down is treated with Nikwax products to make them perform better in damp conditions.  Although Hydrophobic down is not waterproof it dries much faster, absorbs less water & retains loft far better than untreated down.
