The Mountain Equipment Mission Jacket is made from  Exolite 275 double weave Soft Shell fabric, making it warm & stretchy. The Active Fit cut, articulated sleeves & the stretchiness of the  Exolite means the jacket moves with you without feeling restrictive. As it is made out of a Soft Shell fabric it is super breathable, making it an ideal jacket for active winter sports such as ski-touring & mountaineering; although it would look pretty good in the pub beer garden too. The Mountain HC Hood isn’t made for extended helmet use but it does accommodate a helmet at a squeeze if you need it to, adding to this jackets ovberall versatility. Then for added ventilation M.E. have popped in some pit-zips for when you get a bit too warm & need to cool off quickly. The Mission Pant is a perfect example of a hybrid construction, making use of M.E.’s proprietary Exolite Soft Shell fabric for the main body of the pant for its stretchy & durable double weave make up. Then the use of the PTFE membraned Windstopper Soft Shell fabric in the knees & seat provide not only 100% windproof-ness in these areas, but because they have a PTFE they are basically “waterproof”. I can’t say that they are waterproof because the seams haven’t been taped, & it Windstopper is designed to be windproof not waterproof; however if wind can’t get through you’d be hard pushed to force water through. These beastly mountain pants are stretchy enough for those big moves & waterproof panels in the seat & knees for when you need to sit or use your knees. Great for winter mountaineering, ice climbing, or a damp day on the hills. Nice & close fitting to reduce bulk thanks to M.E.’s Alpine fit but roomy enough with a regular fit ankle to allow room for you big mountain boots. Then just to make sure they stay in place during big moves Mountain Equipment have popped on a lace hook to stop the legs from rising too high.
