Rab have upgraded all their brilliant sleeping bags for the 2014 season with Hydrophobic Down. This flurocarbon free treatment was developed in conjunction with Nikwax & although Hydrophobic Down is not waterproof it dries much faster, absorbs less water & retains loft far better than untreated down. The Ascent 900 suits users looking for a 4 season bag. This bag is designed in a semi-rectangular shape that is user friendly for general camping or for those wanting a bit more room than a tapered mummy shaped bag.   The Ascent 900 offers excellent value for money, quality construction & low weight for its performance.   All Rab sleeping bags with left & right zips can be zipped together to form a cozy double bag. Filled with 900g of 650 fill power 80/20 Grey Duck Down in a Semi-Rectangular shape which is optimised for the specific fill weight. The generous internal shape is cut to allow a more relaxed sleeping position without sacrificing the performance needed for general mountain & outdoor activities. The shape of the trapezoidal internal baffle chamber delivers a very stable structure that delivers a consistent distribution of down throughout the bag. Differential cut ensures that the space between the lining & the outer fabric is optimised for the specific filling & fill power. These two technologies combine to maximise the potential of the down to loft naturally & reduce migration resulting in greater performance. The outer & inner fabrics are Pertex Microlight which is durable & lightweight & dries exceptionally quickly. Access is via a 3/4 YKK zip with an anti-snag baffle. An internal shoulder baffle helps to keep all the warmth in the bag & provides the ultimate in snuggly comfort. Both the hood & the shoulder baffle have drawcords. The new Endurance Down Mitt is basically a lightweight Expedition Mitt for when you dont really need full on furnace warmth, but just want to make sure your hands stay warm & protected in freezing conditions. They are good for light work in the polar regions & at altitude but excel in UK & Alpine winter mountaineering situations. The hood & foot area is lined with Pertex Endurance to minimise damage from wear & also reduce water take up from wet boots & clothing. Insulation is provided by 1000g of 850 fill power superior quality Hydrophobic European Grey Goose Down, yes you read correctly, 1000g of mega down! This amazing down is held in place with the use of longitudinal baffles which stops the down migrating to the sides of the bag.
