The Andes Jacket is a new addition to the Rab winter range & is an extremely warm & eminently capable high altitude mountaineering jacket; it is also perfectly suited for use at lower levels in extreme cold. To further enhance the Andes weather protection Rab have used the brilliant Pertex Endurance outer fabric. This tough durable fabric has a light PU internal coating to make it water resistant, downproof, windproof & breathable. The Andes is filled with 435g of 800 fill power Hydrophobic European Goose Down which has passed the European Down & Feather Codex. This code of conduct determines the source of the down; ensuring that the down is a by-product of a slaughterhouse or harvested during moulting periods & is not illegally live-plucked. All this means that the down inside the Andes is about as good as it gets! All this lovely down is captured within a narrow box wall construction to maximise loft & minimise cold spots. To further increase the practicality of this brilliant jacket Rab has used Hydrophobic down, basically each & every cluster of down is treated at source with Nikwax environmentally friendly, flurocarbon free special products to make them perform better in damp conditions. The Ascender pant is a burly mountaineering soft shell pant that can shrug off the worst of the weather & has functional design elements to ensure comfort & reliability when you are out in all weathers. They are made with a mix of heavy weight & mid weight DWS (Double Weave Stretch) softshell fabric which uses tightly woven Nylon & Polyester fibres to repel wind & rain whilst maintaining superb breathability. Larger fibres on the inside of the pants actively wick moisture away from your skin to the smaller, tightly woven fibres on the outside where it evaporates. These external densely woven fibres reduce wind & water penetration making these versatile pants remarkably weather resistant & very quick drying.
