This is the Daddy of winter softshells! The Vapour-Rise system was originally devised by Rab Carrington himself and is exclusive to Rab. Vapour-Rise is a dual layer system that provides windproof, breathable, high wicking and quick drying performance in a single garment for all mountain activities. The Vapour–Rise Guide jacket is the warmest in the VR range and offers amazing levels of insulation, breathability, weather resistance and durability. Lined with high loft fleece over core body area for maximum insulation areas and VR micro fleece over the arms and shoulders to maximise breathability it is protected by durable and weather resistant Pertex Equilibrium fabric and Rab’s own double weave softshell. Pertex Equilibrium on the main body is backed with Polartec high loft grid
fleece and the double weave stretch softshell over the shoulders and arms is backed with standard Vapour-Rise mid weight fleece velour. Your body heat acts as a pump working with the high loft fleece lining to push moisture away from your skin and move it to the face fabric. Pertex Equilibrium face fabric has larger filaments on the inside and smaller filaments on the outside. The laws of capillary action dictate that moisture will move from large filaments to smaller ones, pulling your sweat away from the lining and spreading it out over the large outer surface area.  This evaporative heat loss and moisture wicking create a temperature equilibrium to keep you comfortable and dry in all conditions. Finally a robust DWR (durable water repellent) treatment on the outside repels water. The
VR guide features a fully adjustable and wired peak helmet compatible hood and 5 pockets to stash all your essentials. Even though the fabric is incredibly breathable Rab have fitted pit zips for when you are having to work extra hard. All this fabric technology combines to keep you comfortable whatever the weather.
