The Cerium LT  Hoody is a specialist lightweight down jacket that can be used as an active user’s winter mid layer or as a standalone piece in cold dry conditions. It weights next to nothing, has clever mapped insulation & can be stuffed into its own stuff sack for easy storage. The Cerium is beautifully made, as you would expect from  Arcteryx, but the really clever thing is the way that they have made the jacket so light. Traditional down jackets are made lighter by simply reducing the amount of down & using super lightweight, fragile materials.  Arcteryx however have stuffed the Cerium with 850 fill power European Goose Down & given it a high tenacity face fabric. Weight reduction has been achieved through ingenious engineering techniques. For example the baffles on the elbows are narrower on the inside because your arm is naturally bent, so that area needs less fabric, the hem draw cords are reduced & only pull in the back of the jacket & the whole jacket is anatomically cut to reduce surplus fabrics. The Cerium also uses strategically placed  Coreloft siliconised polyester synthetic insulation in areas that receive the most moisture & are affected by compression. The shoulders are  Coreloft insulated as are the hem, sleeves & underarms.  Coreloft retains warmth even when wet & resists compression better than down; so you get the best of both types of insulation, unrivaled warmth & comfort from the down in the main body & protection from  Coreloft in strategic areas. The face fabric is called  Airetica and is a 34g/² high tenacity 20 x 10 denier mini rip stop Nylon which has been treated with a DWR  (durable water repellent), so it is tough, wind resistant, highly breathable & has a smooth feel & soft handle. The end result of all this technology, superior craftsmanship and  Arcteryx gorgeousness is a down jacket that fits & feels fantastically well, performs in all mountain environments & looks brilliant. 850 fill power European Goose Down Coreloft 80 g/m² insulation Nylon rip stop face fabric Insulated storm hood Full front zip with chin guard & wind flap Elasticated cuffs Adjustable hem drawcord 2 zipped hand pockets Stuff sack included Trim fit ...

The Arcteryx Covert Hoody has been around forever, but this year it has been redesigned with a much enhanced fit. The body has lost that square boxy shape & has been tailored to offer a slimmer yet still relaxed fit. The body is now also a bit longer for enhanced insulation & the arms have been lengthened & shaped to make them more practical & comfortable. Arcteryx have used a new fabric, which retains that marled wool look so familiar to Covert fans. The fabric is called Alpenex Heathered & is 100% polyester with a smooth surface, just like wool,  with a brushed fleece inner. The fabric provides superb insulation, wicks moisture & dries quickly so it is perfectly suitable for use as a technical mid layer, but I suspect that most of the time the Covert Hoody will be used for slobbing around town as it just so comfortable. The Covert Hoody features flat lock seams for strength & low bulk, no lift gussetted underarms for freedom of movement, a low profile Scuba Hood, two zipped hand pockets & a laminated arm pocket. Breathable ultra quick-drying Flatlocked seams lie flat for added comfort No-lift gusseted underarms Scuba Hood Full front zip Stretch-knit cuffs Laminated sleeve pocket with laminated zip Two hand pockets with laminated zippers ...
