The Eclipse Inferno Jacket. Due to the use of Pontetorto Technostretch 260 Fleece, M.E. has manufactured this garment to have a flexible & active fit. Fleece in the main body, arms & collar to provide greater warmth where it’s needed, then a lighter-weight Technostretch Fleece is used to panel key areas such as under arm & cuffs; basically the places where you don’t want too much bulk. The off-set zip is a key feature if this lightweight midlayer/heavyweight baselayer. Not only does it stop you from catching your whiskers in the zips teeth, which is annoyingly painful, but as the zip runs at a different direction to other layers it reduces cold spots that you normally get from zips that are all lined up. The thumb loops are of a good size as sometimes thumb loops can be a bit snug, but these are lovely & comfortable. Mountain  Equpiment have used  Pontetorto’s new 260 weight fleece to provide exceptional warm for weight performance. Pontetorto Technostretch 260 fleece for warmth Pontetorto Technostretch 190 fleece panels in key areas Active fit Flatlocked seams throughout for next-to-skin comfort YKK offset deep centre front zip for ventilation Napoleon pocket with mesh back Seam-free hips for comfort with a harness or rucksack Low bulk cuffs with integrated thumb loops Drawcord hem For all you kit geeks out there, the links below will take you to Mountain Equipments Information pages where they will explain this jackets different fabrics, fills & constructions techniques in greater detail. The Kamchatka Salopette comes with lock, stock & barrel. Mountain Equipment have injected all of their engineering expertise in constructing a full spec set of salopettes that perform exceptionally well; when the line between steep backcountry skiing & mountaineering become blurred, just reach for your pair of super technical Kamchatkas. Made from 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro 40D fabric & 80D fabric reinforcements; as well as being super durable, like a typical Goer-Tex Fabric, they keep all the wind, rain & snow from getting in. Windstopper X-fast 230 have been inserted in the lower back area for its full windproof yet highly breathable qualities just to stop you from getting too warm & moist. As I said to you earlier, M.E. has pulled out all the stops, so to show off they have used their Storm Construction techniques; everything from seam placing, construction & taping, to face fabrics, bar tack reinforcement & zips. These salopettes are basically impregnable. They have been fabricated around M.E.’s Active Fit block, this is the closest fitting cut that M.E. do. But because you will most likely be wearing big clumpy boot & ski boots they have increased the lower leg volume for you. The braces are fully adjustable & they have installed a drop rear seat (crap flap), so you don’t have to de-rig when nature calls. There is a pocket specially allocated for your avalanche transceiver for when you are out in the back country. Then on the flip side, if you aren’t using these in the winter snowy condition & are just using them as an over trouser then you have to option to zip off the internal snow gaiter. Super techy & versatile, what more do you want? 3-layer GORE-TEX® Pro 40D fabric 3-layer GORE-TEX® Pro 80D fabric reinforcements WINDSTOPPER® X-Fast lower back insert Storm Construction techniques used throughout Active fit with increased lower leg volume for ski boots Full length 2-way YKK® moulded Aqua Guard® side zips Fully adjustable braces with drop rear seat Bonded 2-way YKK® WR fly zip Avalanche transceiver pocket & zipped thigh pocket Zip-out internal snow gaiters & reinforced kick strips For all you kit geeks out there, the links below will take you to Mountain Equipments Information pages where they will explain this jackets different fabrics, fills & constructions techniques in greater detail.
