- 75%) dominates & hence the oil resembles Lemongrass although it has a rounder & more fruity aroma. Like Lemongrass May Chang is used for the isolation of Citral for lemon flavours & for the production of several perfumery materials as well as Vitamin A. While the synonym Litsea Citrata is often given for May Chang Litsea Citrata is a related species with a lower Citral content. A wonderful citrus aroma which uplifts cleanses & tones. May Chang is an excellent room deodoriser & insect repellent – use 5 or 6 drops in a traditional candle burner Aroma-Stone or Aroma-Stream.
