This really is a lovely
boot, it is lightweight
(around 550g) and
beautifully made, as you
would expect from Meindl.
The leather uppers are
so soft yet supportive
which means the Toronto
can be worn straight from
the box. The thing you
instantly notice when you
put them on is how much
your heel and ankle are
gripped and controlled
without feeling
constrained or rigid in
any way. A roomy
forefoot allows for a
natural and relaxed foot
position and will suit
wider feet. A deep
lugged Vibram sole is
hefty enough for normal
hill use without being
too heavy or inflexible
and features a PU heel
insert for cushioning and
comfort.

The Meindl Respond Mid
GTX is a lightweight

The T Aenergy is the
big brother of the old
Teton Aenergy. Faster,
lighter and more durable.
The mixed fabric
and PU based upper is
hard wearing and flexes
with your foot. Whilst
the tough rubber toe rand
protects the front of the
boot from scrapes on
rough rocks. The boot has
a full Gore-Tex lining so
it is 100% waterproof and
seeing as this is a Swiss
design you know it has
been built to last. This
boot is very similar to
the Salomon Cosmic boot,
however after 3 months
you wont have to bring it
back to get it replaced.
There is a soft
cushioned midsole that
absorbs shock extremely
well and turns long walks
into a
pleasurable experience
for your feet, even
though the front of
the midsole has a stiff
board for added support
on the rock. The sole
unit is one
of Mammuts own custom
designs and has been
produced by Vibram, so

The Womens Tribute 2 GTX
builds on its
predecessors success with
a new injection moulded
PU midsole and
Exoskeleton. This clever
construction technique
provides cushioning and
support and extends up
and around the heel to
provide additional
support and pronation
control. The Tribute 2
GTX has genuine straight
out of the box comfort
and wearability. They are
so light and easy to wear
you just want to stick
them on and go for a
walk. AKU are about
the only manufacturer to
keep the last (the solid
form that dictates the
boots shape) inside the
boot throughout the whole
production process. By
doing this the Tribute
memorizes its shape
through the most critical
stages of production.
Whilst this may be a more
costly operation it
ensures the integrity of
shape and ultimately your
comfort. This process
also a more accurate
sizing as the boots
don’t shrink when they
cool off after the
moulding process. A TPU
lasting board provides
structural support and a
natural rolling walking
action. Grip and support
are provided by a deeply
lugged Vibram sole unit
with a positive heel
brake to provide
additional security when
descending. Uppers are
2.0mm full grain leather
backed up by a Gore-Tex
membrane to provide a
real belt and braces
approach to keeping out
