The Arcteryx Covert Hoody has been around forever, but this year it has been redesigned with a much enhanced fit. The body has lost that square boxy shape & has been tailored to offer a slimmer yet still relaxed fit. The body is now also a bit longer for enhanced insulation & the arms have been lengthened & shaped to make them more practical & comfortable. Arcteryx have used a new fabric, which retains that marled wool look so familiar to Covert fans. The fabric is called Alpenex Heathered & is 100% polyester with a smooth surface, just like wool,  with a brushed fleece inner. The fabric provides superb insulation, wicks moisture & dries quickly so it is perfectly suitable for use as a technical mid layer, but I suspect that most of the time the Covert Hoody will be used for slobbing around town as it just so comfortable. The Covert Hoody features flat lock seams for strength & low bulk, no lift gussetted underarms for freedom of movement, a low profile Scuba Hood, two zipped hand pockets & a laminated arm pocket.
