Going into more detail; the Theta AR Jacket is made from two different types of Nylon faced Gore-Tex Pro,  N40r-X and N80p-X. Arcteryx have used the light & supple N40r-X nylon rip-stop fabric throughout the body to maximise comfort & breathability, this is then reinforced by N80p-X plain weave nylon on the shoulders, arms,  seat & hips to protect these critical areas from abrasion. The Theta AR has a mid-thigh length to provide extra cover making it the perfect all-rounder for outdoor activities. All seams are taped to an exceptionally high standard & drawcords use a one-hand operation. The helmet compatible  Drop Hood, which as the name suggests, drops down flat out of the way when not required & features a high integrated collar that forms a weather tight closure when required. Pit zips enhance breathability when you are working very hard & all the main zip is a  Water Tight  Vislon zip, the first zip to pass the Gore-Tex extreme wet weather test. All other zips are Water Tight zips but be aware that this doesnt make the pocket waterproof only highly water resistant, so electronics & valuables should always be kept inside a a water proof bag. This brand new boot from AKU is absolutely gorgeous, both to look at & to wear. Virtually all the components were sourced from Italian suppliers & the boots themselves were designed & hand made by AKU in their Montebelluna factory in northern Italy. They just ooze quality. The key to the comfort & stability of AKU boots is their IMS system. Normally the midsole (the boots backbone) is made from a flat stiff board or plate, but IMS uses a 3D anatomically shaped midsole that cradles the foot in a natural position reducing internal movement & encouraging a naturally relaxed foot. What this means is that your feet feel less tired as they are not constantly working to provide support, the IMS is doing all that.
