This heavy duty & high quality tie down strap is perfect for securing heavy & bulky loads to car roof bars, in the back of vans & around the home. The one inch wide polypropylene strap is bar tacked four times for extra security onto a sturdy zinc alloy camming buckle mechanism. Simply feed the strap through the buckle as instructed & pull tight, the self locking buckle will grip the strap tightly ensuring a secure load. A great feature of the buckle is the smooth release mechanism which stops the buckle from flying up when released. You can configure the strap in two different ways to suit your requirements: Loop Configuration: Simply create an adjustable loop by threading the free end of the webbing through the Cam Jam mechanism to secure your load. This configuration is the default method & is similar to those produced by other general purpose cam-lock devices. Lockout Configuration: This method makes the system more versatile by enabling the selective positioning of the Cam Jam mechanism along the webbing loop. The lockout configuration also allows the Cam Jam Tie Down Strap to anchored without the engagement of the Cam Jam mechanism. For example you can secure the Cam Jam strap to a roof rack before you secure the load onto the rack & it prevents the strap sliding around while you set up the load, or while tensioning the strap. Lockout configuration enables locking tension to be applied to the webbing with up to a 3-to-1 mechanical tensioning advantage; this is similar to the effectiveness of ratchet type devices. Please watch the video which explains the two options far better that I can here. These incredibly useful straps are available in three different sizes, each with its own colour coded sewn in label for easy identification. High strength: 2.54cm wide waterproof, high density weave, polypropylene webbing Sewn-in colour coded & numerically labelled tags allows for easy identification of strap length Premium quality die-cast zinc alloy Cam Jam tensioning mechanism with nickel plate finish Cam Jam mechanism features a die-cast zinc alloy housing & centre pivot pin with a stainless steel torsion spring that activates the centre hub with integrated webbing capture ring. The webbing capture ring on the cam mechanism enables the controlled release of tension to any applied load. This is very important when high load force has been applied to the webbing & is a significant improvement over the webbing release behaviour of more conventional cam-lock devices that have a tendency to suddenly & dangerously release tension. Easy to achieve high tension, adjust & control the release without sudden, dangerous unloading Multiple Tie-Down configurations for versatility
