The secret to the  Neo Air XTherms performance is the clever  Therma Capture triangular core. The mat is basically air filled, & that air is trapped in hundreds of triangular internal chambers with a reflective surface that bounces your radiant body heat back into your sleeping bag & away from the cold ground. Cold air is also reflected back to the ground so it cannot penetrate your body. This clever construction does away with the need to insulate the internal space of the mat with an insulating material, keeping the weight to a minimum. The Therm-A-Rest home repair kit works on all Therm-A-Rest mats, allowing you to fix punctures & can even repair larger tears. The repair kit uses a wet adhesive which needs at least 4 hours to cure giving a more durable bond compared to the self adhesive patches. In the kit you will find; alcohol free wipes to prep the area, Seam Grip adhesive, a glue spreader, some repair patches & some tear aid patches to hold everything in place for larger repairs.
